Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is a non-invasive, painless treatment that uses low-level red and near-infrared light. The light is absorbed by the skin and tissues, where it's believed to help your cells produce energy more efficiently and support the body's natural repair processes.

It uses no heat and no UV rays, so there's no risk of burning or tanning.

What to expect

Simply relax while the light does its work.

Sessions are comfortable and require no downtime, so you can return to your day right away. The light is bright, so most people close their eyes and simply rest.

Your session, step by step

  1. Settle in

Sit or lie down comfortably. The panel's stand adjusts in height and angle to suit your position.

  2. Set up the light

Christine angles the panel toward the area you'd like to focus on and chooses an energy level and mode for you.

  3. Rest in the glow

Close your eyes, breathe and relax. Many people find the soft red glow deeply calming.

  4. Back to your day

No recovery time needed. Sip some water and carry on.

Sessions use a curved LED panel on a height-adjustable stand, so you can relax seated or lying on the treatment table.

Two kinds of light

The panel combines visible red light with invisible near-infrared. Visible red light is mostly absorbed in the skin, while near-infrared generally travels a little deeper.

Red 660nm light reaches into the skin; near-infrared 850nm light generally reaches deeper tissue. Surface Skin Deeper tissue 660nm 850nm

How red light may help

Stimulates cellular repair
Red light may help energize your cells, supporting your body's natural healing and renewal.
Reduces inflammation
Many people use red light therapy to help calm inflammation and ease everyday aches.
Supports healing
By supporting cellular energy and circulation, red light may help the body recover more efficiently.
Skin rejuvenation (anti-aging)
Red light may support collagen production, helping skin look smoother, brighter and more even-toned over time.

Good to know

Before your visit

  • If you can, come with clean skin on the area being treated, free of make-up, lotion or sunscreen.
  • Wear something that lets the light reach the area you'd like to focus on.
  • Remove jewellery from that area.

Afterwards

  • Drink plenty of water and carry on with your day.
  • Many people find benefits build gradually with regular sessions.
  • Give yourself a day or two to notice how you feel.

Let Christine know if

  • You're pregnant.
  • You take medication that makes you sensitive to light.
  • You have epilepsy or are sensitive to bright or flashing light.
  • You have a skin condition, or a history of skin cancer. If you're unsure, check with your doctor first.

Questions people ask

Does it hurt or feel hot?

No. The panel has no heating function. Most people feel little more than a gentle warmth on the skin, or nothing at all.

Is it like a tanning bed?

No. Red light therapy uses no UV rays, so there's no risk of burning or tanning.

What about my eyes?

The light is bright. Keep your eyes closed while you relax, and avoid looking directly into the panel.

How often should I come?

Many people enjoy regular sessions, as benefits tend to build over time. Christine can help you find a rhythm that suits you.

Which length should I choose?

30 minutes is a great place to start. 45 or 60 minutes gives you more time to settle and focus on more than one area. Not sure? Choose “Not sure yet” when you book and Christine can help you decide.

Ready to slow down?

Send a request with a time that suits you, and Christine will reply to confirm.
